Myers-Briggs personalities in the department

Post  hellz on Wed May 05, 2010 12:32 pm

Hey Matsci-ers, a little social experiment here. Go to http://www.humanmetrics.com/cgi-win/JTypes1.htm and take the test (probably takes 5 minutes). Post what you get and also comment on whether you think it's a good description of you.

I'm curious as to whether there is a predominant personality type that leads us all to be here in grad school, studying matsci. It'd also be interesting to see how this differs from the population at large.

ewww... i hate that test. the real version is several hours long; the one you posted is probably the quick free one (i didn't click on it). i'm pretty sure since we're all scientists we're probably gonna have a T vs a F (or i should hope)

well so far 2/3 of the replies are F....so far bunking your theory. Interesting to note that all 3 have been N rather than S, which is what you'd expect from scientists.

INTJ

Design engineer was listed as a career that fits this personality well, sounds about right.
